Moderators are volunteers who keep the shared song library, venue directory and Woodshed accurate. If you use The Band Plan regularly and like tidy data, we'd love your help.
What moderators can do
Moderators get a Moderator Dashboard link in their account menu, plus these extra powers:
Songs and artists
- Edit any detail of any library song directly. Everyone else can only fill in blanks or suggest a change (see Editing library songs and charts).
- Approve or reject the changes people suggest.
- Merge duplicate songs into one.
- Edit artist names and merge duplicate artists.
- Edit or delete any chart, and delete any link on a song.
Venues
- Edit any venue detail directly. Everyone else can fill in blanks or suggest a change.
- Approve or reject suggested venue changes.
The Woodshed
- Review lesson links people submit, and edit or remove Woodshed entries.
- Turn market tags on or off.
Accounts, payments, recordings and the site's system tools stay with administrators. Everything else about The Band Plan works for you exactly as before.
What we ask
- Be careful. Merging songs can't be undone, so check before you act.
- Be fair. Apply the same standards to everyone's suggestions.
- Keep it current. Review waiting suggestions when you can. There's no minimum time commitment.
It's a volunteer role. We may remove moderator access if it goes unused for a long time or is misused.
How to apply
Email contact@thebandplan.com with:
- your username,
- what you'd like to help with (songs, venues, the Woodshed), and
- a line or two on why.
If it's a good fit, we'll turn on moderator access for your account and let you know.
