Setlists

YouTube Playlist

Play a setlist as a playlist of YouTube videos.

The YouTube Playlist plays a YouTube video for each song in the setlist, in order. It's a quick way to hear the set before a gig, or to send a new member the songs to learn.

Opening it

On the setlist page, in the Views panel, click YouTube Playlist. Use Copy Link to share it with people who don't have an account. The button is greyed out if no song in the setlist has a YouTube link.

Using it

Nothing plays until you click a song. Each video plays through to the next one, and playback stops after the last song. Switch between Player and Grid: Grid shows thumbnails, and Watch on YouTube opens a video on YouTube.

Which video plays

For each song, the playlist uses:

  1. Your band's preferred YouTube link, if you've chosen one, or otherwise
  2. The first link on the song saved as a YouTube link.

Links saved as another type, such as a tutorial, aren't used even if they point to YouTube. Songs without a YouTube link are skipped, the Maybe set is left out, and a video that appears for two songs only plays once.

To choose the video, open the song's band song page and click Make preferred on a YouTube link, or use the playlist preferences gear. Choosing preferred videos needs the Core or Principal role (by default).

  • Audio Playlist: the same idea, with audio links
  • Practice: video or audio next to each chart, with speed control
