The Band Plan keeps a shared directory of venues: bars, clubs, breweries, festivals and other places bands play. Musicians add and fill in venues together, so every band gets a head start on booking. Anyone can browse, no account needed.
Find a venue
Click Community in the top bar and pick Venues, or use Venues in the footer. Venues are listed by name.
Use the Filters panel to narrow the list:
- Search by name or city.
- City, State, Type (like bar or brewery) and Stage (indoor, outdoor or both).
- Has email to show only venues you can email about booking.
Click a venue to open its page.
What's on a venue page
The top shows the venue's name, type, city and capacity. Below that:
- Details: address, phone, email and website. Click the address to open it in Google Maps, the phone number to call, or the email to write to them.
- Contacts: other ways to reach the venue, like a booking contact or a Facebook or Instagram message link.
- Social: the venue's social media pages.
- Notes: tips from other musicians, like who to ask for or what nights they book.
- Venue info: capacity, type, music style, stage, booking status and lead time (how far ahead they book).
- Technical: the sound system and stage size, so you know what gear to bring.
- Fees & payment: what the venue pays or charges, if someone has shared it.
Anything nobody has filled in yet shows Not provided.
Help fill it in
Sign in to improve a venue's page. Venue info is shared by everyone, so a phone number or tip you add helps every band that plays there.
- Blank fields: click Add (for example Add phone or Add notes) and save. Your info shows up right away.
- Fields that are already filled in: click the field or its pencil to suggest a change. A moderator reviews it before it replaces what's there. Moderators can edit directly.
- Add contact and Add social (under Manage) add more ways to reach the venue. Adding a Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or Twitter page also adds a matching message link to Contacts.
The person who added the venue can also Edit venue and Delete venue. They, moderators and admins can remove contacts and social links.
To add a venue that isn't listed, click Add venue at the top of the Venues page.
Save a venue to your band
Signed in, click Add to my bands (under Manage) and pick which of your bands to add it to. It then shows up in your band's venue list, where you can track outreach and booking. See Venue outreach.
Gigs at a venue
Venue pages don't list gigs. To see upcoming shows, browse gig pages or check a band's public page.
