Every member has their own storage, set by their plan. Recordings count against the member who made them. There's no shared band pool.
How much you get
| Plan | Your storage |
|---|---|
| Free | 2 GB |
| Pro | 30 GB |
| Premium | 100 GB |
Your storage covers everything you've recorded or uploaded in all your bands, plus your profile song recordings. See pricing for current plans.
What counts against you
- Set recordings you recorded or uploaded to a setlist.
- Splits made from your set recordings. Splitting a recording needs room in the storage of the member who recorded it, even if someone else does the splitting.
- Song recordings, including trimmed and normalized copies. Each one is a new file.
- Ideas you recorded or uploaded.
What counts toward the band but against nobody
Album audio, album artwork and headers, and band photos, videos and audio samples count toward the band's total. They don't count against any member. You still need some room in your own storage to upload them.
The free-plan cap
Members on the Free plan can add up to 5 GB to a band, all together. That covers recordings, splits, song recordings and ideas made by free members in that band.
When the band reaches 5 GB:
- Nothing gets deleted. Everything already there stays.
- Free members can't add more recordings to that band until the total drops below 5 GB.
- Pro and Premium members aren't affected.
To make room, a free member can delete older recordings, someone can upgrade, or a paid member can record instead. The band's Storage panel shows how much the free members have used.
Recording when you're out of space
If you're over your storage, or the band's free-plan cap is full, the Record buttons on a setlist switch off. If a Pro or Premium member in the band still has room, the setlist page offers to record anyway and says who the recording will count against. The recording uses that member's storage instead of yours.
Checking your storage
- In a band: open the band menu and choose Storage. You'll see the band's total, how much the free members have used, and your own usage across all your bands.
- Everywhere: go to your Profile, then Recording Management. Disk usage shows your total and a breakdown into setlist files, splits, song takes and ideas. You can filter and delete recordings from the same page.
Recordings from former members
When someone leaves a band, their recordings stay with the band but stop counting against them. They show up in the Storage panel under From former members.
- A band owner can Adopt a recording to keep it. It then counts against the owner's storage, so the owner needs room for it.
- Recordings nobody adopts are removed after 6 months. Recordings used in an album are kept.
- You can't split a former member's recording until someone adopts it.
Freeing up space
- Delete set recordings you don't need, especially full rehearsals you've already split.
- Delete splits and song takes that didn't turn out.
- Delete trimmed or normalized copies you aren't using. The original and each copy are separate files.
