Your song collection and your bands' repertoires are separate lists, but they hold the same library songs. You can bring songs from your collection into a band, and your bandmates can see which songs are in your collection.
Adding a song to a band doesn't take it out of your collection, and removing it from one doesn't change the other.
Add one song to a band
Open the song from your collection (or any song or chart page) and click Add to my bands. Tick the bands to add it to and click Add to Selected Bands. Bands that already have the song are ticked and marked "Already added".
You need to be allowed to add songs in that band. By default the Principal, Core and Member roles can; bands where your role can't are greyed out.
Add lots of songs at once
- On your band page, click Browse catalog (or Add or remove on the repertoire page) to open the song picker.
- Under Member collections, choose In my profile collection. The picker now shows just your collection, with songs already in the band highlighted.
- Click each song you want to add. Changes save as you go.
To pick from a bandmate's collection instead, choose In their name's profile collection, or In any member's profile collection. More on the picker in Managing the repertoire.
What your bandmates see
Members of your band can see which band songs are in whose collection:
- Song cards on the band page and in the picker say "In name's profile collection".
- The band page, the repertoire page and the picker can be filtered by Member collections: yours, any member's, or one person's.
This is handy for finding songs everyone already knows, or what a new member brings with them. People viewing the band's share link don't see any of this.
What stays yours
Adding a song to a band shares the song, not your own settings for it:
- Your recordings stay private, under My Song Recordings. Band recordings are separate.
- Your transpose stays with your collection. The band has its own key, BPM, vocalist, notes and transpose for the song, set on the band song page.
- Private songs: you can add a private song you created to your band. Its members can then see it, but it stays hidden from the library. The picker only shows private songs you created, so a bandmate has to add their own private songs.
The other way: band songs into your collection
To keep a band song in your own collection too, click Add to my collection under Actions on its band song page. It stays in your collection even if you leave the band.
A bandmate's private song can't go in your collection; only the person who created it can collect it.
